Garrett Master Hunter CX Help

I have an older model Garrett Master Hunter CX that I have had in storage for quite some time it is in pristine condition with case, headphones, deep search coils, crossfire coil etc. the only problem is the battery box is corroded bad enough a couple of the springs that contact the batteries are gone. I want to know do they make an upgrade to a rechargeable battery pack? or replacement boxes? or what is the recommended amp rating if I was to improvise my own rechargeable battery system? I looked on Garretts site and could not find any info. So any help would be greatly appreciated. Thanks.
