Garrett Pro Pointer

So one of the complaints I have heard about the Garrett Pro pointer is, NO silent mode. Has anyone looked into a way to turn the sound off? Has anyone asked Garrett about that option

I read where on person put tape of the speaker, did that really work? I like to have a Silent pinpointer.

It's an excellent pinpointer but the noise can be annoying. I put some think foam tape over the speaker and it's much better, no, it won't silence it completely but it's not nearly as annoying. Pinpointer works great, saves you time while trying to find coins, jewelry in the sand. HH John

I LIKE the idea of it increasing in intensity even for the vibrate function.
That is a BIG improvement.
I thought the sound could be turned off - No?

I taped mine up really well but you can still hear it.
Shame the sound can't be turned of and the unit is not 100% waterproof. This is the biggest downfall of the unit.
