saw one at a pawn shop today new never been used for $450.00 probably can get it a lot cheaper WHAT ARE YOUR THOUGHTS ?

Hey baywalker, I owned a Sea Hunter II for a few years and it's a nice sturdy built detector. It is however a PI detector which finds everything with no discrimination. I sold mine last year. The beaches I hunt in the Mid-Atlantic are way to trashy and I got tired of digging junk. If your beaches are clean it may suit you better, if not bring your muscles and be prepared to dig alot...

i love my sea hunter, great machine if you do not mind digging a lot of trash but the more trash you dig the more treasure you find just my thought

SEA HUNTER NOT A BAD MACHINE TO GET YOUR FEET WENT WITH - PUN INTENDED
BUT I WOULD TRY AND GET HIM DOWN - TELL HIM $350 - OR START AT $300 AND IF HE COUNTERS - GO TO $350
I DONT THINK THERE RESALE IS USUALLY THAT HIGH AS $450

We've used the SH2 for 10 months with varying success - we've found gold and platinum and silver with it - as well as millions of nails, trash and every other ferrous object.
We've used it to 105 feet underwater without a hitch in open seas.
It's a great machine with weak points being the headphone jack - it is only sealed with a plastic ball surrounding the wire at the plug-point 'waterproofed' with silica gel. We've gone through 3 pairs of headphones in 10 months...
I'd use the SH2 in conjunction with something that can eliminate ferrous object - we hunt over and under water with the SH2 and Excalibur2.
I agree with poster above - but it for less than 300$ - new is only 550 and the pawnshop probably bought it for 100...

Just wondering what you ended up doing - did you get the used SH2 or pass and get something else?

Past it up it is still there I go by there every weak and check wait till he goes down a bit.
