I found this a month or two ago and have not been able to determine what it is. I have seen items that are really close posted by other members. The most recent was today in Todays Finds by WV_Detecting "Local Lake annual draining finds". ANy ideas on what this thing is? I found it on the ATV trails where I found the large cents.

Thanks,

Funkman

side view. I thought it might have come out of a watch but did not think a watch would have been that wide. Possibly a clock???

Dude! You found part of the Antikythera Mechanism. That thing is worth a fortune! Just don't let the Greek government find out you have it...

Could it be from one of those wind-up toys from the 40's. They were key wound and had a large spring similar to a clock spring.
