On Sunday (9-2-18) PeteyGirl and I drove to Safford to look for geodes. We passed many washes on the way that were FULL of rushing rain water coming out of the mountains west of hwy 191 as we motored north from Interstate 10. The area we searched had THOUSANDS of geodes and geode pieces. This is a very remote area but very good pickings for the first-timer that just wants to FIND something. I am still looking for the disc that has the picks of the historical markers we photographed in the Gila valley along 70. Kit Carson rode by this way with Gen Kearney back in (1867?). Also saw a marker memorializing two individuals that were murdered by Indians near the road. Most of the geodes had solid centers but some had crystals too.
Here is a sample of most of what we brought back.... about 3 dozen orbs and pieces.

We also broke a few open.
