I guess from a pasture field, if not your soil is great! One of the best dug I have seen! :thumbsup:
 

That is in stunning condition...this past spring I pulled out a "2 penny" 1797 cartwheel...twice the size!
 

Now that some history!! 300 yrs old and in great shape too!! Excellent find!!! HH Tom

It's pasture now, but for the last few previous years it was ploughed.
 

Those things are so big I guess that's why they did not make them for very long. That is a cool find!

They actually caused a copper shortage at the time !.

Congrats, really nice find. I found one of the same a while back, but not in that good a condition. I was still thrilled to find it. I can imagine how you felt when you found yours. Really nice.
