To be honest I'd like to see some provenance other than that website. And that's why I think you are getting many different opinions. Never the the less, it's a good find!

Yet another myth, in my eyes.

Unless documented evidence can be given, then for me these will always be British made cuff links in the popular late 18th C - early 19th C Neo-Classical Urn style. Lots of different types, I've found a few myself.

These images were popularized by the British aristocracy love of the Grand Tour, nothing to do with GW.

But if you want to sell on ebay, you know the route.
