Scout its not clean enough to photo yet. The front says SCHEIDE MUNZE 2 PFENNINGE 1846 underlined with an A. The back reads 180 EINEN THALER with a crown over a bird on a sheld. I thought it was an odd find here in Indiana at a fairly new school.

The coin is Prussian and the eagle is a black Prussian eagle. The wording indicates it's fractional currency (4 phennig to the thaler)

Right a coin of Prussia.

180 EINEN THALER, means that there goes 180 of these coins on 1 Silver Thaler
(so 1 Silver Thaler was 360 Pfennige).

On the 1 Pfennig coins of the same time you can read: 360 EINEN THALER, and on the 3 Pfennig coins it says 120 EINEN THALER.

By the way the coin is of low value, maximum $ 1-2 .

agersea :)
