Berlin — German police say a couple of hungry pigs digging for food came nose-to-nose with a long-buried World War II anti-tank weapon. Police said Friday the two pigs found the single-shot "panzerfaust" on private land southwest of Dresden.

The pigs' owner secured the animals in their stall then called police who were able to remove the weapon and destroy it.
The inexpensive and easy-to-operate panzerfaust was used extensively during the defense of Germany and through the rest of the war. Such finds are still relatively common, even 65 years after the end of the war.

A funny story. I think I'd be a little jealous if my pigs found it before I did. The history over there - yet the danger of it all. I'm torn!

My father told me of those weapons. The scale of that war is way beyond belief.

Hey Neil, if they're good enough for Homeland Security to sniff out bombs, maybe
we could train one to sniff some Seated?

Brings a whole new meaning to " I smell Bacon" aye? :laughing7:

Hey Al, wouldn't that be "Fist your tank" with Panzerfaust?

Meanwhile, on the season finale of Makin' Bacon With Panzerfaust, Wolfgang Hocks shows us what to do with swine, wine, old ordinance and just a touch of sauerkraut.

Great pic, John!!! ;D

May I?...

Now I'm getting thirsty. Hmmm... Next week is American Craft Brew Week and Chicago Beer Week- I may have to brew up a batch of wheat beer in celebration!
