Getting Close!

Did a complete day of detecting the new area I've secured and still haven't even scratched the surface. First target out of the car was the 1883 IH cent which made me happy since I don't see these all too often on this side of the border. Area I concentrated on was target rich but nothing spectacular. Notable exceptions are the bullet struck LC, the HUGE button and the musket side plate piece. Still waiting for the corn to come off some fields but I still have enough to keep me busy for the rest of the year!

Yes I'd say you were getting close...got a couple of corn fields to hit too...love those bean fields best...that site should keep you busy for a while...

On the way back I saw that my favorite bean field had just been cleared. This is the field we hunted where I found the King's American Dragoons button, the 1 reale cob and the silver shoe buckle...that's my next hunt!

Nice hunt Romeo. Don't see those octagon shaped dandy buttons found too often. I found one 5 or 6 years ago...only one I've ever found. Don't see too many being posted. Keep up the good work.

I've only ever found one big button like that. Big silver plated one and definitely one of my best.

Nice detail on the IH, congrats on your finds. You can just picture the guy tossing the LC in the air then drawing his gun and firing at and hitting it!
