Just changed my profile name to more suite my desires. I'm in search of lost treasure, "Silver & Gold" I'm in eastern Ky.
Question for the pro's: Cleaning corroded old coins. The wheaties ive been finding are for the most part unreadable. I used salt & vinager on some not so old coins and it works pretty good. Does this damage the surface of the old coins?
Thanks in advance for your tips.

hmm....it might, i'm not sure. But i've heard some good stuff about Hydrogen peroxide. I used it on my rare 1857 LC and it was fine

LOL - Nice Avatar! Try soaking them wheaties in straight Tidy Bowl for a few days, that normally takes care of them real good .... :D :D. I guess you won't try that again huh! I just soak mine in water with a little dish detergent in it. It's practically impossible to bring new life to those old copper pennies, once they deteriorate, that's it. ;D

Happy Hunting - NS
