So today I tried a couple of different spots. Long story short, I was detecting a past customer's yard when a neighbor asked how my luck was today. After telling the lady that I wasn't having much luck she invited me to detect her property. She told me that it had previously been a laundromat for 50 years or so. The other neighbor told me the business was a bar before that. I ended up finding the gold plated alligator ring which looked really good initially! It wasn't until I cleaned it up that I learned it was junk metal. To make up for that I found this giant silver pendant! Let me know what you guys think it is. It says sterling on the back.

Congrats. Heck of a chunk of silver!

Looks like it says "sterling" to me!
Congrats!!

Nice job on the silver? I keep detecting certain areas of town , hoping that a neighbor will invite me onto their yard. No luck yet. lol

That's massive. I would have been freaking out. Really great find!!!

I have the exact same aggilator ring in junk metal also in my junk ring drawer. Pin is sweet! Probably a broach. Congrats on the silver

That silver lady surfer just might be a candle holder?
Congrats

Nice silver find, congratulations.

AGW, If you look closely at the back you can see where there was a pin from the top to the barrel clasp at the bottom. I really think it is a broach.

Thanks guys! It is definitely a broach. Here are some pics after I got some silver polish on it.

Yep,, you're right,, I see it now,, it's a brooch.

Anybody have an idea as to the age of it?

That would be a great display case piece. I bet theres tons more good job!!!!!!!!

LOOKS LIKE BARBIE SAYING SO LONG KEN , NICE FIND .

Thanks for all the responses guys. It is definitely going in a display case once I get the time, and decide how I want to construct them. What blew my mind on this find was that I was able to get a good signal on it. There was a huge rusty nail over the top of it. I guess that the shear size of the brooch was enough to keep the detector from confusing it for junk iron.

Looks like a vintage girl holding onto a rope and riding a board? maybe water skiing related. Neat piece... looks like she's riding on a wave......
