Found this a couple weeks ago near a cellar hole in Western Massachusetts . I think it’s a transparent glass cabochon in a silver setting with 8 crudely made prongs. If I hold it up to the light just right it looks like there is a small star inside the glass but it’s hard to get a picture it. I’m thinking it’s a button, part of a ring, or possibly a broach. Any information is appreciated.

When you say star, is it like this? Lots of gemstones have stars. Gary

I wonder if it's actually Yellow Amber?
The setting also looks very old, so maybe an early-19thc gentleman's ascot or stick pin.

Nice find,
Dave

I think it's glass and either a fancy button or part of a cufflink. Pretty cool!!

If there is an image visible, it would be a glass button and not a cabochon. Pretty neat find!
