Glass cylinder

The glass portion is about 3 inches. The upper portion is smooth with a very slight taper. The lower portion is threaded to accept the metal part. Inside at the top and bottom of the barrel shaped portion are metal screens and gaskets. There are no markings on either part.

Found it in a junk store. There are no markings on it.

I’m wondering if there wasn’t a cork sleeve on this end at one time and possibly used a a strainer for bottles.

If it has metal screens in it I'm guessing it's an in-line sediment filter of some sort.
