Check this out I found this glass ball in the plowed field today a couple feet from a 1794 large cent. It's solid and has a horse inside it I check it with the CTX wide open and didn't make a peep so it can't be metal. I was thinking it was a glass stopper that was broken but when you put the horse right side up the bottom o the ball is smooth. I googled it and can't find anything that matches I was hoping some one had seen one before.

i found one like that once that was a rosette but if yours is a ball it could be any thing from a walking stick knob to a steering wheel knob some farmer had on his tractor

Nice find! Those sulphides are worth a pretty penny when they're in good shape. Yours could be restored fairly easily, but wouldn't be worth as much being restored.
