Glass lid from canning jar

Found a glass lid from a canning jar yesterday. I'm guessing that glass pre-dates the tin lids still in use today. The lid is embossed Ball NO. 10. Can anyone give me any info about this piece, dates of manufacture, value, etc? Any info at all would be appreciated.
