Glue From the 60's was it LePage’s ?

Back in the 60's I think it was a Glue
when you screwed the top off there was a wire with an applicator Ball on the end.
I remember some LePage’s glues had a rubber applicator tip,, But
I'm curious on the Wire with an applicator Ball ? was it glue or was it something else ?
like shoe scuff repair
 

Wire with an applicator Ball was liquid shoe polish. I used to use it. Kiwi I think. :)

I remember old time tire tube adhesive had that ball on the end,but don,t remember if it was lePages.

thanks all I think this one is solved.
I believe the tIre tube paste was the one
