Thanks these guys are the real wild turkeys we have a good population of them this one is one of the top Tom's they are safe.

I always love seeing them in the wild!!! It's probably tempting to lure one over for dinner!

Now I want turkey dinner. The microwaveable kind of course.

this was was on local news..

turkeys can beat the tar outta you with their wings. known to break fingers and hands with em.

I think your wringing there necks wrong if you breaking fingers... Old Toms are tough eating, wait until the new chicks are 60 days old if you want table fare.

lol, I just speak from watching other kids get the crap beat out of em by them when I was younger. I prefer to not catch them by hand as 3.5inch shot works wonders.

Great pics! I saw one erupt from the woods yesterday. When my outdoor cat Buddy stares intently at the woods from his perch on the picnic table, I know there is something out there worth a look.

Great pictures! The ones I had in my yard Spring 2020 didn't fan or display at all!

Toms are great eating, it's the legs I have a problem with.
Take the breast, slice it very thin, fry in real butter on each side. Nothing better.
I've tried pressure cooking the legs, (drum stick) no luck.
Got'em in the yard, along with deer, when they or each are in season, BAM! I stopped stomping the mountains and sitting in tree stands years ago. I live in the woods, neighbor has a lake. What else could a man ask for. A loaf o' bread, a bottle o' wine and a woman by my side.Fat, drunk and in trouble (love).mmm mmmm

Big boy is out again for sure..this past winter they were flying into our crab apple trees often to eat the berries
