Going through some old finds

It's snowing today so I took the day off and since I can't go detecting I'm going through some old finds that I haven't looked at in a while. When I first found this I was detecting at a 1700's home and didn't think much of it. Now that I have seen a few cuff links posted on here, I'm thinking I might have an old cuff link?!

What do you guys think?

I also found this coin on the beach a couple of years ago and was never able to ID it. It almost looks like it could be hammered silver to me but I don't know enough to be certain.

The first item looks like the head of a copper picture nail, they used to hang paintings with a long wire that was visible above the painting for some reason, I think it allowed the picture to hang straighter, but they used a decorative nail for this. If you look at my post "No coins " in today's finds you'll see one.
