going to gulf shores

has anyone detected around gulf shores going there in march to do first time beach detecting with my dfx...any ideas, suggestions or tips would be greatly appreciated...

Gulf Shores got pretty torn-up from the hurricanes.You'll be lucky if they let you around the beaches at all.However, Madi Gras is on now .Mobile,Gulf Shores,Dauphine Island and all the smaller suburbs have big parades,the parks and medians should be loaded all along the parade routes.Wish you luck--

I've learned from posts here that alot of areas down there are still considered to be dangerous for MD'ers, locals almost considerate it "looting" due to the fact alot of homes were lost. Curfews may still be ineffect also so do some homework before you go!

When you say "gulf shores" what area are you talking about? Which state?
