hurricane recovery after Michael... St. George Island, Fla....bridge just leaving Apalachicola...what a mess on the island. All our work was covered with 2'-6' of sand. Reminded me of Iowa after a big snowstorm. plowing and piling snow off the roads. except this stuff won't melt. So much of everyones treasure turned to trash. So sad. There were miles and miles of this.

When I lived in Tallahassee, St. George Island was our weekend camping spot. Beautiful beaches, great fishing, fantastic raw oysters ($2 a dozen shucked!) across the bridge in Apalachicola. Sad to see it all beat up but as a veteran of many hurricanes I know it will all be rebuilt better than new and life will go on.

we rebuilt all land line communications from one end of the island to the other. "The Plantation" to the state park. then from Carabelle to Mexico Beach. loved it all except them damn tiny gnats that defy mosquito netting. Vicious little...biters.
