Gold and Silver button?

Sorry for 2 posts. I forgot to mention this in my finds today. I also got this button which i thought was just an old plated button. I seen hints of gold color and silver so i thought it was flaking off. That was until i just went and cleaned it with a toothbrush and water. Its half silver half gold. I have no idea if its a button, or what. Any help would be appreciated. It has a couple letters on the clip which are "AC" and "HF" i believe. very small letters. It isnt stamped gold or silver either that i can see. It sure does shine though!

Looks more like a collar stud or cufflink, but can't quite tell from the reverse photo.
