I found these quartz stone core samples at a large dump. Atleast thats what I hope they are. Not certain. Dont want to get my hopes up. Does anyone out there have any ideas? Possible ways to test to see?? My camera doesnt show the best pictures. Looks like gold..it shines instead of glittering like fools gold..plus the black stuff which i hope is raw silver also has some shiny silver mixed in the black..thanks to everyone in advance for the comments and contributions.

Suppose I'll round up a better camera and give you guys something better to look at tomorrow sometime.

ARRRGGGHH the picture is crushing me.

Take a clear sharp picture and perhaps I can identifywhats in them. I am a gold prospector in Montana with 14 yrs experience.

also try and take some macro shots of the rock core samples.

I can not seem to figure out how to take clear close ups with my camera its a kodak easyshare cd33 3.1 mega pixel. I cant find another camera..does anyone have any simple tests that can tell me if it is gold? i will let everyone know if it is or not..until then i am still looking for a camera that will work better.

Keep asking around about a better quality camera to photgraph it. I supposes you can ask jewlers in your area if they can do an assay test. Most may not know how to do that though. A high quality close up photo is much needed the way we are going about it.

3.3 MP is plenty for a good photo.
I think backing off a little may help with your autofocus.
if you post a large pic, I'll crop it for you next time I log on.
