Interesting story from the local news.

What do you all think? Stolen or inherited? I know times are hard but with the availability of the internet I can't see anyone not knowing that these coins would be worth more than face value. :icon_scratch: The somewhat questionable bank tellar knew something! :icon_pirat:

The case is solved. Not real bright :tard:

Re: Gold Coins Exchanged at Bank for Face Value

I have a good rapport with people at my bank. None of them are coin collectors per se. One time a guy who works at the bank came over to my house with a box of 500 wheat pennies he bought at face value from the bank and sold them to me at face value 'cause he knows I collect. I told him that times are getting tough and there was likely to be more of that sort of thing coming his way and to buy anything he thought I'd be interested in or to just give me a call and I'd come take a look-see.

Story says the teller informed the manager who disregarded the issue, shouldn't the manager have been fired?

I wish I knew the gal handing these out...
