Allanw23 is right, I have used many and the Lobo is very good. However for the extremely best, ya can not go wrong with the Minelab GP 3500 or GP 4000. They are pricey, but how much is your time worth?

Thaks for your reply, I was leaning toward the gold bug or the lobo. Which would be better the non motion all metal of the gold bug or the motion all metal of the lobo?

I like the LST because of the weight factor,however,many in AZ and CA,AK,are swearing by the GMT.

I thought the Gold Bug was the motion all-metal and the Lobo was the non-motion all metal. But maybe I have it confused.

I have seen a lot of serious gold hunters that use the Gold Bug, guys that make gold hunting part of their income. The Lobo has the benefit of being able to hunt other stuff too. It has many features, like the Gold Stinger.

I don't think you can go wrong with a Tesoro.
