The closest Supernova remnant is 815ly away and happened roughly 10,000 years ago. The mastodon went extinct roughly 10,000 years ago. The Gold created from the supernova and transit time at it's fastest about 6300 years.

We're still in the same inertial frame as everything else in the Milky way galaxy, moving in unison at 300km per hour. The only variation would be our vertical motion transiting the galactic plane every 3000 years.

It might have happened but It didn't happen naturally.

Whether frozen or fossilized the skull would not have survived the amount of earth movement and alluvial action needed to concentrate the gold in an eye socket.

$1600 dollars of gold in 1906 would have weighed 6.5 pounds troy. That's about the size of 1/3 gallon of milk. To put it another way it would be about the same volume as 78 dice. In the eye of a skull. Right...

Maybe in Pennsylvania these type stories are believed but in the mining districts they raise little more than a laugh about how gullible people can be. Thanks for the chuckle.

A prehistoric skull was found in the Misery River now that it is real low and someone posted it over the net and in the paper...... Now that it has been posted for all to see , that is required by law NOT to move it as per the law here in Misery ! I bet he has some MDNR people to "talk" to him about it and return it if he still has it in his possession . It has been reported in the news paper every year almost about people finding things in the river at the low levels we normally get in late fall and early Winter and the Missouri Department of Natural Resources watch's for these types of comments and make statements that they CAN'T remove them under penalty of law here in Misery ! I'm sure there's people that just keep they're mouth shut!
