Detector(s) used
Whites MXT, Garrett AT PRO
Can someone suggest a machine that is made just for gold recovery. I am searching a field in tennessee for some gold nuggets tossed out years ago, but it is next to the road and my whites MXT is finding stuff, but unfortunatley , also all the trash too. Looking for suggestions on a machine that might ignore most of the side of the road trash and hone in on the gold itself. Thanks for your time. James at pensacolakid2007@yahoo.com

Unfortunately they dont make a detector that finds only gold, if they did we would all own one. You can try turning up your discrimination on your MXT and filter out some of the trash, since you searching for gold nuggets lost and not gold jewelry that has base metals in it that might help you.

What size nuggets are you looking for?

HA!HA!If they only did!!!!HA!HA!!!

Stick with the MXT and dig everything in the + range.

How did gold nuggets get thrown out? Why?

Try "Dowsing" rods. Rods made to detect a specific metal are "tipped" or "coated" on the end with the metal you are looking for. This technique is called "baiting". You can find out in a matter of minutes if you have the "knack" for dowsing. Some people are extraordinarily good at dowsing, and others are miserable. It's an art, sort'a like oil painting. There are probably dowsers in your area who can help you out. Check around. People have been using dowsing rods for centuries to find treasure and just about everything else you can imagine. Most commonly they are used to locate water undergraound. Individuals who specialize in locating water are called "Water-Witches". The great thing is, rods are relatively CHEAP compared to metal detectors. Good Luck.
