GOLD METAL DETECTOR FEEDBACK

I have an old Compass gold ?metal detector with 8 and 10-inch coils. I keep getting constant feedback. I have backed off the power, the sensitivity and ground-balanced. Any suggestions as to how to quiet the machine down? It is not electrical interference or ground conditions.

Maybe a corrupt connector to the loop cord? A broken pin or a twisted pin (dead short) can cause some problems.

Even some broken cables or solder pads are bad...have you cecked the PCB?s, cables, switches and potentiometer inside?
