Welcome to the forum PekkaView attachment 2123185Hello! I own small rock crushing plant here in Southern Finland. My friend called me few days ago and told me he thinks there might be some gold in my rocks. What do you think? Could this be real gold?I tried with magnet and no reaction. He also told me that he has made several tests and claims that gold it is. This material seen in pictures is from few pieces (few kilos) he took with him. Of cuorse there is some dirt with it still, but it looks like gold... What should I do next?
To save your teeth if it isn't, I'd take a small chunk, put it on a hard surface, and tap on it with a hammer. Gold will flatten easily. Pyrite will shatter as will most other minerals that color. When I find suspected gold flakes, I bite a piece between my front teeth. If it bends, it MIGHT be gold. If it crumbles or makes a crunching sound, it probably isn't.
