Gold panning in Ireland?

I am sure that there must be few places worth to go but cant find any info... Is there anybody who can share any info about some good spots in this summer? Is there anybody who want to join me for couple of days out and do some gold panning somewhere in this green wet island?...

I wish I could fly back home to go with you. A lot of family in Dublin. I have not been back in 25 years and the last time I went surfing with my brother. Stay warm pat and knock back a pint for me at the pub.

I did a quick google http://www.google.com/search?client=safari&rls=en-us&q=panning+for+gold+in+ireland&ie=UTF-8&oe=UTF-8 and found the first four site to have some good information. Looks like gold can be found in the Dodder River. So I'll be bring my pan in May.

I do know metal detecting is not good in Ireland. The Police take your detector and your finds. What is found in Ireland stays in Ireland.
