Hi All,

I found a ladies gold ring today that doesn't have a Karat value but does have a symbol of a 4 corner diamond with a dot in the center.
Does anybody have a clue what this means? There are no stones in the ring but it looks like it may have had one.
Sorry I have no pictures (camera is broken) but based on the gold rings I have found, this doesn't appear to be plated.
Web search didn't reveal anything.

Since you don't have a photo, can you describe the ring? Is it modern or antique? Is it a wedding Tiffany style ring with 4 or 6 prongs? Is it yellow gold or white gold? Any more information would be helpful. Breezie

Breezie, Thanks for the feedback. I will get a photo ASAP. Its lighter in color than my 14k rings. I was able to clean up the area I thought might have held a stone but its just a part of the design. Its a nice design but I cant really describe it so I will try to get a pic for you tomorrow. The "makers mark" looks like <> with a dot in the center. I believe it is an old ring.

Is this it by any chance? Mine also has no Karat mark.

Here's the pic. The mark is barely visible next to the clip. Sorry its slightly out of focus, best I could do with this camera.

You can hold a magnifying loupe in front of the lens like I did.

Never judge gold by it's color, although 10,14, and 18 can be very different. I recently purchased some chains, 14kt. and they were a different color than my other 14kt chains. Differrent alloying material, but still the same amount of gold. The variable alloy material is how they make "black hills" gold: green, pink, odd yellow and maybe another color or two. Rose gold is a up and coming thing, at least before gold went ballistic.

The style is called a single 'knot ring.' Nice find, Breezie
