Gold Ring ? - Strange Inscription

Found this today at a local park...not sure of the metal content ..what's even more puzzling is the inscriptions on it..the same are on the inside ..the inscription almost looks like middle eastern....and cant make out if its gold..nickel or what the makeup of the metal in it is.? It is definitely heavy though.? Anyone got any ideas or suggestions ?

It could still be gold, there are 2 or 3 official replicas sold, one of which I know is gold.
I'll try to find the links when I get home tonight.

I have seen several of these on various forums. They are covered with some sort of plating or heavy gold paint. You can see the plating casting line right down the center. Sure wish it was gold. KS aka JIM
