Year is just about over but did get in couple hunts this past Weds..11th and Thursday the 12th.

First hunt dug a lot of sinkers with very little trash but did come out with 3 beautiful Golds. The First a Victorian 18k Gold ring with stunning engraving and ruby colored stones, the second a early 1900's signet, and third a inscribed 18k Cigar Band. ...
G.L. to D.F Dec. 16 . 88 (1888) just a few days off from finding it the 16th...........Also dug were two silvers, a Merc and walker half, 1943

Thursday's water hunt was more of recon trip to check out a old beach up a river since the bay front waters were to rough to hunt. Lots of trash here, did dig several bottle caps but came out with a real stained 1953 class ring which cleaned up very nice.

To click on the "like" button is an extreme understatement. I LOVE THIS POST !! Beautiful, vintage gold rings !
Found by a SERIOUS water hunter on the Mid-Atlantic Coast in the middle of December. Hat's off to you Sir !!!!!!!! Great post.... Great finds.........
CONGRATS !!! You really deserved those finds. You put in the hard work & you were rewarded with great treasures. CHEERS !!! J.T.G.

I see another ring... earing... religious pendant... and some odd balls I cant make out.

I am tired of tellin you well done... So... I just nod.

You just don't see it.

:)

Nice Rings and Silvers OBN. You are amazing. Congrats!

Wow sweet rings man big congrats...:occasion14:

Guess I'll wait to vote banner until the final tally for the year.....with 2 weeks left you might hit 150 !! Its the final countdown OBN push hard brother....congrats !!

Congratulations. Great finds.:icon_thumright:

Outstanding! Thanks for posting such high quality images of these beautiful finds. I was out on a Bay beach too (but not in the water) - anyone want to see a pile of corroded clad dimes? No, I don't think so....

Well done as usual OBN! Still more time to add to your count!

Kinda off-topic question for OBN (and any others), but have you found any kinds of gloves to be best for cold water hunting? Without knowing better, I apparently (i.e. according to my doc) damaged the blood vessels in my hands after they were repeatedly frozen ice-fishing 50 and more years ago. They are not so much painful as less functional in the cold and embarrassing when I shake someone's hand and they recoil after touching "the hands of ice".

Nice haul. That is a lot of rings for 1 year.

Wow, 121 anything is impressive. 121 gold rings are beyond fantastic.
BTW, the stones in the 1st ring appear to be Rhodolite Garnets.
Great finds!

Wow,

Awesome year and very nice gold rings.

Your talking some money with that many gold rings.

Jer

You've earned every one of those lots of hard work
That's just freakin amazing keep it up you can open a jewelry store soon. Great job. Tommy

Beautiful finds! I am wondering, how do you determine that the date on the ring is 1888, and not 1988 (or 1788)?

Oh ya, I can’t wait to see your complete 2019 pile of treasure! That’s amazing. Congrats

You have done your homework and found those older swimming areas that yield the beauuuutiful older gold. Congratulations on another great hunt.

For your water hunts do you use a kind of wader or a wetsuit? And what type of gloves do you wear? I usually use a wet suit, but it has been too cold to continue water hunting that way. Any assistance would be appreciated. Keep swingin.

Thank You!!

On the date of....I know the history of the area very well and I've pulled several other rings dated to that period this year.. Just a guess but I've got close to 20 gold rings from this beach without a fineness mark.."K" which predates them before the 1906 Jewelry Liability Act, A law that regulates purity markings on gold and silver articles in the US. Here are a few dated from that period I've got this year...

Gold rings are cool no matter what but when they are super old like those, they just smack of awesomeness that only the old stuff can demand. I'd run down to the beach but for several things, (A) I can't run anymore, (B) I'm nearly into Oklahoma and the beach is too far away (C) the first wave would probably knock me over and drown me. An I too have those ice cold hands from what I have been told LOL
