Gold train in the news. Possibly found

Depends if they were physically able to get to it, or just found where it was using detection equipment.
Once a government gets involved it's pretty much over, they will be extremely lucky to get the 10% they ask for, just my 2 cents.

The Gold Train scandal may be about to reveal some more of its secrets, meanwhile. As part of the agreement, the US government has also pledged to declassify all documents involved in the case and have them archived.

Hopefully they've managed to re-hide some of it so they don't get screwed.

I've read several stories about this, and a bunch seem to be repeating that they think the train has 300 tonnes of gold onboard. If my math is right, that's about $12 billion worth. There's just no god damn way, is there? Also, wouldn't a find like that basically crash the world gold market for the near future?

They claim they found the train using GPR. The train was moved into a tunnel in the mountains and both ends were blasted closed.
The train was supposed to be carrying arms, ammunition, industrial equipment and gold.
Here's my take on this. Trains travel on fixed tracks. The track beds exist long after the ties and rails have been removed. Tunnels are shown on maps.
The general area of this train disappearance has been known for many years. If this story is for real, what took them so long to locate it? Frank.
