Tonights evening news had a story on the importance of checking your pocket change.

The bad news...

The good news...

At the end of the story, the news person said "For those of you with collections of Kennedy half dollars, anything minted after 1964 is only worth 50 cents because there's no sliver. So go ahead and spend them."! Hopefully this will result in a flood of 40% hitting the banks!!!

At least they did not talk about CRHing...but it will sure cut into my pocket change finds.

Happy hunting!

To most people, the novelty will wear off fast. For those holding coin collections, it will lead them to cash them in properly, instead of dumping them, if they read this. All in all, I dont think it will be so bad on us.

How could the owner of a COIN shop say that half dollars minted after 1964 have no silver in them? Thta makes no sense at all.

Wow.

I'd like to buy some 1965 - 1970 halves from HIM! LOL

At least no one out side of Seattle watches that new and probably very few in Seattle... ;D
