Good example of "fire pop"

At least thats what I call it. I like finding or collecting points with this kind of damage because they have a story attached.. If I find a relic with this kind of damage on it I know a fire pit was once very close which is pretty cool to visualize, but most importantly it shows the lack of importance of these tools. The relic pictured is 4" and is perfectly functional yet it was discarded, probably just left in the animal or flipped in a fire pit.

One mans trash is another mans riches "nice point"

Re: Good example of "fire pop"

Even with the tiny bit of damage thats a very nice point. Every time I hold a point I wonder what stories I holds.

Re: Good example of "fire pop"

that's a real nice dove, fire pop and all, and I agree impact fractures, and fire pops give a piece character.

Man! What a great find! I just can't imagine that after all of the work it took to make these items, they would just toss them away. I always feel that they were dropped and lost, thrown and lost or were embedded in an animal who managed to get away before succumbing to the wound and falling out of view of the hunter. But then again...... what do I know

Nice artifact. Rare is the day when we find perfection. I like them all. Some just more than others. I would think that one is a favorite of yours with the fire pop. Makes you wonder..
Thanks for sharing.

If that's blood on your hand, I'd say it still sharp too.
