Met another forum member today for a hunt, not many of us from this area. Made arrangements with kickback to meet for the first time and go on a hunt together, super nice guy, and he took me to one of his spots. Found the usual junque, a pretty good amount of clad, and a first for me, a 1902 Indian Head penny! I was stoked, it hit as a solid zinc penny on the M-6, and since I dig all the zincs even tho they're usually trashed in our soil, imagine my suprise and delight while giving it a field cleaning, I was smart enough to realize, that hey, that isn't a Abe staring at me.
It was a pleasant afternoon on a nice Montana fall day, good company, and nice to meet you again Bill, we'll have to do it again when the antelope hunting is done.
Take care all...
