Tried something new today and met up with Sage from T-net and went to his "neck of the woods". Started in 16 degree morning air on Montreat College and hunted for almost three hours. Did pretty good with harmonica reed, pendant, shoe buckle and some clad coinage. Then we decided to go to an old B & B and struck my first silver of the year (1956-D Roosevelt) as well as a cute mother of pearl heart shaped pendant and some more clad. From there we went to the last site- Heartbreak ridge. An almost verticle hill near a parking area at the edge of Montreat. Sage got a couple pretty Mercs and I found clad, bullets and lots of trash...until I hit an iffy signal at 6 inches. Out popped a button almost as big as a half dollar. Two piece and caked in rust and slowly making its way to dirt. Even touching it the face was collapsing. Trying to clean it up in a peroxide bath so I can post in the What is it column.....Great days hunt....achey breaky muscles and good fun with another treasure hunter...last hunt for a week after four straight days...I need the rest as I get ready to go back to work...Have a great week all.
