Happy Thanksgiving Everyone,
Before I get stuffed today with turkey and fixins, I thought I'd make a post from yesterday's hunt with DanaPointMike and DanaPointVal. We went to our local deadhorse park and all struck silver.
I found some cool items that I hope someone can give me more info on. First, is the sterling spoon piece of jewelry in the upper right of my pic. Did people really make rings/earrings out of old spoons? This sure looks like what I found.
The token I found is another interesting find. One side says, "Good For One Package of Mints", while the back has a set of #'s, 35054. Any help on this would be appreciated.
Finally, I found my oldest Mexican silver coin yesterday. It was as close to finding a Reale as I've ever been.
It's an 1893 10 Centavos. My buddy, Jon, found a pic of it for me last night, so I posted it along with my actual coin for better detail. There's a set of numbers/letters on the reverse which I haven't a clue what it means. It's stamped "ZsZ 902, 7". Any ideas?
So, all in all, it was a great pre-Turkey hunt. After going back to this park countless times this year, it is still producing some cool finds.
Happy Thanksgiving All!
