Hogge, great coins
I don't see anything wrong, with taking your coins, to The Hitman, to have him clean them, for you. It saves you the trouble, and you get, a lot of information, about your coins. I don't think, you should have to explain, to anyone, why you take your coins, anywhere you like.
Thanks for sharing your finds.

Really don't mind explaining what I do, and why.(I'm kind of ANALytical, and long winded anyway

). Some people would not part with any of their finds, I have NO problem with that. This hobby has turned quite lucrative for me. I do ALOT of research on my finds and has paid off well. EXAMPLE: What was ID'd as, "British Royal Artillery,Revolutionary War, Cartridge Box Sling Belt Tip", (April 2009 Best Finds of 2008- W&E Mag.), IS actually- "Royal Irish Artillery Cartridge Box (pouch), Sling Belt Tip". Very few relics from this, establishment actually exist. (mostly buttons). As it turns out, with extensive research, it is believed to be the ONLY KNOWN EXAMPLE. I could have given up on this relic with it's original ID, but the original ID was not coinciding with the known "British" Royal Artillery examples. An article has been written on my findings, containing ALL avenues of my research, and proof of identification.

I could have given up, but when I get hold of something, I don't let go. Kinda like a pitbull.

It was kind of a challenge for me, and actually fun also. Learned alot about the history of this regiment and it's involvement in the American Revolution. This one relics' markings took 11 months of research, with plenty of dead ends to figure out, but all my time and effort paid off. This relic actually belonged to 1 of the 70 mattrossess of the Royal Irish Regiment of Artillery, that fought with Gen. Burgoyne, in the Saratoga Campaign. I have ALL the proof and it will be in the article.

Have fun out there, and be safe. Hogge
