Picked these up today for $7 each. One is British, and I thought it would be easy to date it, but I'm having trouble. Looks like KGIII, but the date stamp references online look to have a little point at the bottom during that time period, this one doesn't look to have one. What do you guys think?

The second spoon looks American to me by the styling of the initials on the front, and the single maker's mark on the back. I think its JM. I looked online, but didn't see anything that looked similar. What do you think is the age range of this? I've seen similar letter styling from the 1700s and into the early 1800s. What do you think?

I think your hunches are right concerning the one spoon being American - may well be coin silver, and I think a date circa 1800 is in the ballpark . I don't have a decent reference at hand to definitively pin it down though. Great buy !
