hunted an old farm tuesday night, it was so hot and humid I only got 75% of front yard done. I will try to go back this weekend to finish it up. Didn't do too bad, was hard to go more than a few feet without getting a coin signal, I think I dug about 24 clad coins as well. I actually started skipping penny signals cuz I was getting so tired of digging wheats....lol :laughing7: ended up with 20 wheats, got 3 silvers, 1935 quarter, 1944 merc, and 1942 war nickel...., got the 1875 coin not sure what it is any ideas..........oh and one play coin :tongue3:

yep I agree, thanks

Snap!!!!

I am not sure of the size of your US coins for comparison but the Penny and
Halfpenny had the same design. Halfpenny is 1 inch in diameter. Penny is approx
one and 3 sixteenths inch diameter.

yep the yard was super clean as far as trash goes, I only dug 8 things that were not coins, and I dug all nickel signals too!

the older the place the better the finds.
I bet it worth the excrise finding those.
what time did you set out to hunt ?

Nice finds, I am from Defiance but dont get back there very often, Best of luck to you!

yep British One Penny :icon_thumright:

best to just use water, any chemicals will harm the coin, at best use baking soda and water. nice finds. :headbang:

nope baking soda is way too abrasive and removes patina. There was a thread here about cleaning old coppers with ammonia, it does an amazing job, dipping q-tips in it and rolling them gently across coin. I have done it many times

Awesome hunting buddy, what no vid on this?
