With a foot or more of snow possible tomorrow, I thought I had better get out today for one last hunt. I hit a park that has been pounded for years but still gives up a coin or two every now and then. I only dug deep, promising hits that were at least 3/4 down the depth meter. Ignored the cursor and not one of these coins were text book hits for their type. After having difficulty finding that 80th old nickel, I figured now that the pressure was off, I would find a few and of course, I did. Dug a 1943-P war nickel and two Buffalo nickels. Was surprised to dig the 1881 indian head cent in that good condition because the soil in this park is usually not that kind to copper coins. Got a nice, worn 1920-D mercury dime to probably close out the season ! Can't wait for the impending storm. NY State Thruway is already warning drivers not to travel tomorrow from Utica to Albany and South to NYC !
