Got my first piece of gold yesterday!!!

i went metal detecting yesterday at the 1880's homesite and got a funky signal. A mid tone then a high tone. i had a feeling in my gut to dig it and boy am i happy in the plug was the gold with a brass piece of something stuck to the back of the piece of gold.its not marked but it tested positive for 14kt. my dad says it might be part of locket what do ya'll think. thanks for looking happy hunting
