Got old dog tags?

Here are my two best, I also have a beautiful 1934 odd shaped dog licence that has no corrosion or discoloring, it in a trash pile under some bottles and ceramics.

VERY COOL ~ You have a new discovery! I have Bill Bone's newest edition of his book US DOG LICENSE TAGS, and it has 1954 listed as the oldest known dog tax tag from Ft. Myers FL.


I will forward your picture to him so he can add this to his database and reflect it in the future printings of his book!

FYI ~ the oldest known dog tag from Dallas TX is dated 1890

Found a 1955 dog tag from Washington county Md. today.

Here are three tags that I have found in two different parts of Highland County VA. One is a 1964 vaccinated tag, one is 1935 male dog, the other is a 1925 male dog. I just found this thread. Way cool

Thanks Neil, Def. one of my favorite finds. Never saw an older NY tag. I'll check the back out for a s/n but if memory serves me right there isn't one.

I have seen a 1877 NY dog license tag ~ it is the current oldest known from NYC!
