Hi Folks!!

We had some heavy rain last night up till this morning, so I had to get out for a while. Found a field plowed up that I have had some luck in . I stopped to check with the owner and she said it was O.K. , but there had already been a truckload of guys in it last week. She said 5 guys had walked it just a week ago. I thought that with the rain , maybe something would turn up. There were footprints all over the field and they did'nt look washed down very much to me, but I had to keep telling myself to get to my hot spot and concentrate on flint and not footprints. It is hard to think flint when all you see is footprints. Well, either these guys were new to the hobby or the rain did alot more washing than I thought. I ended up having a pretty decent day. Enough rambling, here are some pictures for ya!! Happy Hunting to all.

either way looks awesome

Chong,

I play around with clay and paint and do my own amature restorations on some of my broken stuff. Your question inspired me to put what I believe was the base on this point. Here is what it should have looked like if it had not been broken. The clay is fun to work with and if you ever get tired of a repair , you just snap it off. It all comes off real easy. I also only paint one side of the repair so that no one is fooled into thinking that the point is complete. You can only show one side in a display case anyway. My freinds get a real kick out of trying to find the repair and the turning the point over to see if they were right. Here are a couple pictures. One w/just the clay, and one painted.

Good luck on your next hunt,

Twig.

twig,
wow that point cleaned up nicely!! and double wow, you did a kick butt job of making it look whole again! i really like this stemmed point. probally cause i find a few nice stemmed in my area. i always enjoy looking at your fixing ups. i still have not gotten to my large archaic point yet, just no time at the moment. actually i wont be going out in the desert for the next few weeks so maybe it will give me time to play with my brokes. good job again!!!!!!!!!!!! i love it
