I got out with the sluice on Sat. and did O.K. (about 5 grams ) I did get one nicer nugget which made my day after seeing mostly tiny pickers and flakes on the inspection mat.
I was working in a six foot hole on the old channel of a streambed. The 49ers had diverted the creek in order to work the bank on that side so the water was running about 60 ft from the hole. I was down to the bedrock and found a nice hole but it was under the water table so I cleaned out the hole with my scoop and fingers (braille mining technique) while up to my armpit in murky water.
