Looks like a rivet part of some kind, possible off jacket or jeans, I'm guessing.

Thanks lots... :-) I'm sure its something like that, it's made of copper... I think I'm going through an old coin and silver drought, I'd be happy to find wheat penny these days lol can't seem to get past 1961 or 1965. Not even a relic... :-( but I guess clad will do for now ..

I'm sure this place has been hunted for years that's why I can't find anything really old I was lucky to find the 1917 cent I found... :-) really need an amazing hotspot with plenty of old silver coins and jewelry, but of course isn't that what we all want :-)

Haha...with that many targets...they would be a fool...abotu 90% of the places i hunt..you would HAVE to get out all the modern stuff before you can find anythign old and deep....all those coins just mask good targets

Stay Positive girl...Since he beginning of this year, I have had NO new places to hunt, and decied to start looking for nickels in teh places ive found Silver and wheats...and you wouldnt belive how much is still there. I literlly pounded a very small area for a few hours one day and found nothing...2 weeks later i hit that SAME EXACT area...looking at all my old holes....I get 2 targets withing 10 mins...One was a 1940 Nickel...the other was a 30's Merc that was reading weird

Once you find an place that has produced old stuff....Dont stop hunting it because you thinks its all gone....I know have been returning to all my old spots...and amazingly they are all still producing

That's very true... Nickels are the hardest thing for me to find..
