Hey all, I took the Coinstrike out to the park/campground that I always hunt. I went really slow and listened for good tones. I also found a 1927 Wheatie. I'm telling you, the Coinstrike is very underrated.

It's made by Fisher, not in production anymore but used ones are available.

Congratulations, it looks like the Coinstrike is working for you.
Nice finds.
Happy Hunting

Nice finds Coinstriking looks like you had a great day Congrats and good hunting like them MERCS...

Thanks guys, I love how the Coinstrike just sniffs those coins out of trash.

Two mercs is a great day in my book! I also have a Coinstrike, but have only used it for beach white sand hunting here in the west coast beaches. I'm curious on the depth of those merc dimes in a park environment?

Pics of Coinstrike......

The 1920-D Merc that I got today was an easy 7 inches. The other ones were between 3-5 inches. The Coinstrike gets great target separation even with the stock coil which I have on it right now. I just go slow, listen for high tones and then just move the coil about an inch or two each way and don't even bother with the pinpoint button. Where it really shines is on old zinc and copper though in my opinion.

Fishers old and new are good machines. I'm using an Omega, and all of them are good at picking up our modern trash (CAN) coinage, while others struggle to do so. And have special names on thier machines, when supposedly designed to do that specifically. (BTW to be fair our 2002 and newer coins are junk, and should be IDed as such...I've found them less than 10 years old with holes rotted right through them... at what point in the disentragration process do you stop calling a coin a coin, and calling it a piece of junk ? )

Anyway 2 silvers in a hunted park...your doing all right. No problem with your machine.

When a machine/bank/or shop will not accept it.

Congrats on the finds :icon_thumright:
