Even though this appears to be made from shell, due to the shape I just have to run it by y'all, lol! Was shell ever used for material to make points? Found north of Houston near a creek. The back seems to be the inside of the shell.

Thanks for all your patience dealing with us noobs [emoji12] and our "finds". The creek it was near was all mud and was either to high for gravel bars to show or didn't have any gravel bars that I could find. So I ended up hunting all the sections of washed out/eroded trail and gulleys I found. There appeared to be some material hauled in to build up some of the trail sections of that helps with context. Thx!

What state was it found in?

Hi rock. It was found in Texas, north of Houston.

Looks like a clam shell. This would be a good one for Gatorboy to answer

Thanks rock. Hopefully some others can chime in on this one. It's got me wondering [emoji15]
